I know that a few people have the bp installed in their cars and aside from mick's work of wonder.lol. but really it's amazing. there arent so many turboed aspires on here. so what about a cheaper source of power, nitrous oxide. simular gains but cheaper to an extent... can you say 30hp-50hp to the wheels on the aspire. the bp would be around what? 150-170? and the b6t with a safe tune 160-180hp... I am throwing around soooo many different ideas right now I have 800 for the motor and parts right now and only more to come later in the spring. and more in the fall.lol do you guys think that this is a good way to go. no matter what motor I go with. also which motor would you guys go with I live here in the us. just pm me and give me some advice. Especially you nerd R I deff. want your input thank guys

fordaspire/iamwithstupid.gif What year is your car, and how strict are your state's inspection standards? If its 96-97 you might run into some CEL issues with a 90-94 BP. If its a 94-95 then you are golden biggrin.gif B6T's are over rated these days, Go with a BP, between aspireguy and I we'll get you squared away!

Oh and Aspireguy I didn't forget about the fan issues, I just have been pretty sick and swamped with school work/new car stuff. I'll try and get to it tomorrow night/tuesday.

gadelbert1- 02-18-2008
Boy the B6T sure is over rated.... rolleyes.gif There have been probably at least 50 guys over on FF.com that have put this engine in, myself being one of them, and I'm pretty sure I never met a protege I couldn't have beaten up on (or a mustang for that matter)

that car is faster than 13's. he is running street tires with I believe a b6t with a few mods. I found why the festiva is a better choice than the aspire though. the festy weighs about 300 lbs lighter than the aspire 3 dr. but I believe that that car has about 170-180 hp I really dont know but for an aspire you need at least 10 more ponies to compare to that car I mean just watch this clip 12 sec festy. but nos would help a lot to bridge the gap between the b6t stock no real mods. the bp puts like 115 to the wheels of the escort gt or is the 127 actually at the wheels and not the crank? i'm pretty shure it puts it to the crank cause the b6t puts like 137 to the wheels of the capri. I think that is what I read. I found a fogger kit with a 10lb bottle 50-75 shot which is hp ratings for the "wheel" but really every one I talk to says you only get a fraction of that to the wheels like 35-60 at the wheels. the kit costs just under $610. btw my car is a 95 with the blurple color paint. 5 speed of course. I will probably go with the bp then turbo it if any one can find a kit for under 1100 then I will be all over it. plus this car isn't in that great of shape so I will probably make another project after I get this one going. this will be my FAST car. the other my street car. both aspire's though. this one now will probably end up a convertible blink.gif like the one on here just not as excentric that with about 170-190 with nos/turbo doesn't seem so hard........expensive but with a good tune not that hard. think of how much it would weigh with out the roof half the hatch. The glass is heavy in its self let alone the rest of the metal, no sound deadening material. only the drivers seat left for seats, the old carpet ripped out then a lighter one put in; like I have already, keep all pannels though, unless you want to cut down on all possible weight, a lighter relocated battery, easilly right there you get rid of like 300-400 lbs. My other car that I will be getting will be more... less agressive. for now I will make upgrades all around performance and visual which will all be transfered to the street car. unlessI run into money issues in which case I just do 1 car the one I have now. .......wow I wrote a book lol...so the bp seems to be the choice of engine to go with keep the ideas and info coming fordaspire/liebe011.gif

BP + T owns a a B6T, just look at some of the BP+T cars on ff.com. B6T's are nothing to sneeze at, I am just saying that they are over priced unless you can catch them just right.

dvdreith- 02-18-2008
aspireguy, do you know of any cheap turbo kits for the bp. I think you guys convinced me with the bp there seem to be more available preformance parts for the escort than the 323 gt or capri xr-2
Ill keep looking for a cheap turbo kit for it and also it. hey if I get a bp how will help with the wiring... diagrams. sent it to nerd? pm me I live in nh. I also want to bore it out a bit the bp before I turbo it, like bore it out put it together slap the turbo on and throw it in the car then a tune I just need to find a good place for some lower or same compression pistons that are a little bigger. I think a bore will raise compression correct so I will want to lower compression so I will want a lower compression piston if you guys know of any sites or business to check out let me know. fordaspire/liebe011.gif

nerd racing- 02-18-2008
Flyingmiata.com has good deals on the correct wiseco forged pistons. You can get low comp ones there too. Check out Clubprotege.com for cheap turbo kits, people are usually selling some at one time or another.

To those seeking easy power out of Nitrous. Do it RIGHT! I had a 40 dry shot, and quickly turned my faster than fast B6T into a paper weight, that eventually got left in a parking lot.....

nerd racing- 02-19-2008
fordaspire/iamwithstupid.gif I wouldn't mess with nitrous, I would just build it right to handle more psi.

dvdreith- 02-19-2008
what will I need for the bp swap. providing that I buy a donor car. other than the mount(s) what are some extra parts I need to make this happen.

aspireguy95- 02-19-2008
ive got alot of my turbo parts at clubprotege.com.if you got a donor car you wouldnt need much at all just fab up a mount and then the wiring harness

dvdreith- 02-22-2008
the harness is some thing taht you nad nerd could help me with? if so fordaspire/liebe011.gif fordaspire/notworthy.gif fordaspire/icon_horns2.gif

nerd racing- 02-22-2008
Yep we can get you squared away with the harness for sure.

dvdreith- 02-22-2008
man I knew you guys rocked on here but I am honored to be on this site with so many insightful people. Now all I have to do is find a bp it should be easier than finding a b6t.lol
