So I'm going to spend some time and money this fall and winter and want a rear spolier for my base aspire..can I bolt a complete SE rear hatch w a spolier to my car or will it need some mods..obviously cheaper to just buy an SE spoiler for it but seems like the mods needed to make it fit the base hatch would be a pain in the butt and justify the higher cost of just buying a complete SE hatch..any thoughts??

The hatch switching idea is a good one especially if you get a rear wiper option out of the deal. But you need to go to this site first for other possible ideas and options: http://www.spoilerfail.com/

I can tell you for sure it will bolt on, I had one on my old aspire.

make sure you grab the multi function switch from the SE aspire and the relay for the rear defrost so you can use all the cool new features for the hatch!

you can't add the stock factory SE spoiler to a non - SE car. The factory SE spoiler has 4 bolts which go thru the rear glass, so unless you have the rear glass from the SE you can't do it. fordaspire/chili.gif

Check out www.car-part.com for used SE glass or a hatch. Jack is partially right, you cant put an SE rear lower spoiler on a non SE rear window. The glass does NOT have holes in it, it narrows in around the spoiler. However, if you can find an SE rear glass, you can have it installed on your factory rear hatch, then drill holes in the metal part of the hatch and mount the spoiler to it. That's what I did, after I also installed a top factory spoiler. Double spoilerage! smile.gif Or, you can cut off the SE lower spoiler mounting bolts and use adhesive or double sided tape (Festymick has done this on his). I just don't know what kind of tape he used?

All you have to really do is cut the bolts off. I chose to rough up the surface as well, and then just apply window sealant. I've had mine applied via windshield adhesive for almost two years now, and that includes going through winters that hit -40 Celsius.

Whats the compatibility of the rear hatch among the years? Are they all the same, or do they vary by model and year? For example: I have a 96 2-door. Would a 94 4-door hatch fit on my model?
