Hey guys, im new here! GREAT WEBSITE! - I love your passion for these cars!

Anyway, Im from Malta and had bought this as a second hand car. Since then, I changed the Rims/Tyres, tinted windows, resprayed bumpers and sprayed interior and side mirrors. Other than that, I just loved it from the moment I saw it xD ... never mind the bird poo on the first photo ... parked under a tree :S

I will post more photos of how the car was before but I dont have my laptop at the moment. I will be fixing the rear bumper next week too smile.gif

What do you guys think? Any suggestions?

Cheers,

Eric

1st of all, fordaspire/WELCOME.gif to the forums!
There are a few wild Avellas from out your way! I have been (unsuccessfully) trying to navigate maltese modified forums to no avail. sad.gif

Nice ride! I like the wheels! smile.gif

Welcome to the site. I will be starting a contest shortly.

One question, did you come here by typing in http://www.kiaavella.com or did you use http://www.fordaspire.com or none of those?

Hey guys, thanks for the replies!

I think I got the link from Wikipedia? .. or just google ... I forgot.

@ Festy, thanks for the comment on the wheels wink.gif ... your Aspire is the best one I've ever seen till now! ... cool video on youtube too!

Yeah there are some cool avellas here in Malta ... but there is no community or group that I know of - would be interesting though.

Cheers,

Eric

looks nice and tidy, though from and Aussie perspective its odd seeing GLXI badging on a 3 door as over here GLXI is only a 5 door

Does this mean you have central lock or powered glass?

I have powered glass and mirrors, but unfortunately no central lock ... although it doesnt bother me much on a 2 door. I'm not sure if it is the opposite here in Malta, meaning .. GLXi only on 2 doors...will try to notice this while on the road.

Cheers,

Eric

I noted that there are 4 doors with GLXi tagged as well, weird huh?

Anyway, today I fixed my resprayed the rear bumper, sprayed the mirrors and some of the front bumper where I had scratches, etc. its all DIY, me and a good friend of mine smile.gif ... we also sprayed the inside mirror black, just to make it look more serious tongue.gif what do you guys think?

Thanks for the votes and everything smile.gif Im happy I won it ... i wasn't expecting it!

I will be posting some interior pics too then ... its quite standard inside .. just have a set of seat covers and a custom made (by my grandma smile.gif ) dashboard cover with the kia logo which I bought from ebay tongue.gif

I resprayed the whole rear bumper because it was as you can see from the previous photos it was deteriorating - white circles, etc. I also resprayed parts of the front bumper so that I removed scratches, etc. Me and my friend did this - got the colour code, bought the spray, sand paper and then start spraying! I love the result. What I need next is the rear spoiler and I really want to change the steering wheel...

Cheers guys!

Eric

Firstly nice little car there and congrats on wining COTM smile.gif . What colour code was it? Think it's same as mine or close to it (not sure if there's a difference in paint depending on country?). Would be handy to know for future reference.
