Well, as bluesneaky knows, I've been eye-bally-o'ing this particular car for a while, mostly he knows cause I pestered him nearly to death trying to fill in all possible gaps that I had (which are legion) in prospective white egg ownership.

I wanted to wait to enter an introduction till I had something to bring to the party biggrin.gif

As of today I am the proud and somewhat apprehensive owner of this particular example of ovoid technology !

Thankyou both. It was (for me) a pretty expensive find though, @ $1200.

You should have seen the dust bunnies that take up residence in my wallet bailing out and running in terror biggrin.gif

congratulations man! That is one clean egg, I would gladly pay $1200 if I could find one in that good of shape around here that wasn't a 96 or 97.

Now lets see the good times roll!

Thanks guys, both NR and Blue had to put up with endless questions and handled that real well. Of course, now that I have paid out hard cash money you are REALLY going to see questions fly biggrin.gif

As far as the good times rolling, I'm no expert with paint programs and all that, but what I have got in mind for this car is something along these lines for looks:

As far as mechanicals, well, mostly just going to clean up whats under the hood and try to keep it that way.

Frankly I was surprised. I'm sure its just the incredibly low gearing, but this car is nowhere near the gutless wonder I was led to believe they were, I really doubt I'm going to need to do much if anything to get the performance I'd need out of it.

If anything, I think I'll be looking at a way to get the final drive somewhere where it has longer legs. As my first gift to my newest family addition, I've purchased a tach for it although I'm pretty sure where the rpms are at speed, I'd like a little more definitive view.

I've also named it. Both my wife and my car came from CA, so its honorific is going to be the California Snowball.

The poor boy has obviously seen too much about Ziggy and Kermit.

The sickness has already set in... ph34r.gif

Heh, that particular sickness has been with me quite a long while, all my cars get named.

My truck is 'Big Dawg' and my white Grand Marquis wagon was 'Moby Deck, the great white wagon'. Our co-owned Jeep had the unfortunate timing to break down while I was thinking of its name, so its called the Snow Fairy biggrin.gif

Well, looks like I jumped the gun by announcing the purchase of the car, the deal fell through. NR, you expressed some interest in the car, so I'll post the contact information

CK Auto
152 Whiting Street
Plainville, CT 06062
Phone (860) 747-1072
Fax (860) 747-0250

The deal breaker was when he told me it would take a month to get the title, and I just could not afford to wait that long.

Back to looking round for me, sigh rolleyes.gif
