Hey guys! I was just wondering if anyones replaced their cv joints lately and how much they spent? Mine are just about done for and they need to be replaced!! Anyone?

I bought the driver's axle at O'Reilly Auto Parts for about 65 (plus 75 core charge) and had my boyfriend install it. He had already practiced on Scrappy first.
A few years ago I had both sides replaced at Goodyear and it was about $350 I think. Most places wanted about the same price last time I shopped around -------------------- bluish-purple '95 4door automatic, totally stock other than the hubcaps:PICS

you will probably spend less to change both axles, try rockauto.com they are pretty good about fast shipping and you can usually catch a sale or use a discount code.

I just replaced my driver-side CV shaft a few days ago (passenger side was still intact and functional). I did the work myself, and it was really straightforward. It required a bit of coercing to get the locknut off and to jump the circlip from the transaxle, and the lower ball joint was somewhat stubborn, but overall an easy replacement that just required a touch of patience. I purchased mine from NAPA for 50 bones (after $62 core exchange), plus a couple of quarts of Mercon ATF (or equivalent), so roughly $60 including tax. Hope this helps.
